"When I want to forget about worries, stress, and time: I draw. I paint. I sculpt. I walk. I rest. Drawing is one of the most relaxing activities I partake in. I has always reserved a special place in my life. There is something fascinating about picking up a pencil and being able to put whatever is on my mind onto paper. With every line drawn and erased, every curve reshaped and adjusted, I become more engrossed in the act of drawing. Drawing has never caused me stress. It has always been relaxing."

Bio:
T’Alyne, Born in the mountains a Colorado native and during formative years raised in Michigan surrounded by fresh water. I continually observe and am fascinated by the environment and its constantly form. I discover unifying patterns in the precise processes. I am spellbound by the exchange of energy and the natural timing and organization of our surroundings. Currently living and working in a zero-emissions Offgrid solar home and studio in the mountains of South Colorado. I am interested in balance and environmental stewardship. I am living and working in Nature having a positive impact for an ecologically conscientious way of life. Access to fresh air and nature can boost your health and calmly neutralizes the mind which is an important opportunity to rebuild and restart something different.
T’Alyne studied printmaking and foundry art at Arizona State University, where she graduated with BFA, BA, and MFA. Later she earned another Masters Degree from the University of Colorado Denver. She has since built an impressive exhibitions resume as well as holding Visiting Artist and Resident Artist positions both in Europe and the U.S. of which have been the defining influence on her art practices. She has held long term residencies at Camac Centre D’Art (Fondation Franck Tenot), Marnay sur Seine, France; Atelier Fourwinds, Aureille, France; Virginia Center of Creative Arts, Amherst, VA; Vermont Studio Center, Johnson, VT; and the Webb School, Knoxville, TN.

T’Alyne views her artistic mission in part a social one. She values the establishment of personal connections and hopes to be instrumental in building awareness of the importance of the environment to society and culture through her interactions with the public at all levels of awareness. “Through my work as an artist, I establish personal connections becoming a part of the wave of collective consciousness implementing awareness. Building up our inventory of experiences that support the value of creativity and cultural heritage to the lives of citizens is key.”
Her abstract works, which are comprised of powdered pigment suspended in water-based varnish on fiberglass paper and wood, are meant to capture the temperament of her surroundings and to reflect the ever changing environment.
She is influenced by Rothko, Diebenkorn, Frankenthaler, Avery, and the French Surrealists and Impressionists and the radiance of ever changing light.

Artist Statement
My work focuses on the importance of mark making and how this establishes relationships and bridges between our understanding of the environment and self. I am interested in capturing the temperament of my surroundings and reflecting my ever-changing environment. Flickering between two-dimensional and three-dimensional experiences my work addresses the conceptual spirit of our environment. I continually observe and am fascinated by its constantly changing forms. I discover patterns am spellbound by the great power and destruction as well as the beautiful. I am interested in exploring the precise processes and the exchange of energy that has its own natural timing and organization.
Environmental awareness and protecting our natural resources are crucial if we are to survive. As a culture we are too busy to notice the delicacy of this complete system of life. Through my work as an artist, I see the opportunities to highlight these subtle spaces that balance and support our natural environment. It is crucial that we attend to the beauty, tranquility, and serenity in order to return to the center of balance. When we take care of our planet we impact ourselves positively.
