Sunday Share : Celebrating
This past week I participated in a chat room on Clubhouse about my Offgrid solar powered home and art studio in the mountains of southern Colorado. The talk was about how to build a sustainable environment, reuse recycle repurpose, challenges and successes about Offgrid construction, the joys and inspirational opportunities living in Nature, and possible ways to earn passive income. We had a great time! All very fun and informative tidbits to share with friends who are interested in developing a relationship with Nature and Offgrid construction opportunities. During the discussion the topic of challenges and successes arose. 🔥🔥🔥🔥We spoke about many interesting things including: powering my studio using a forklift battery; to water sources and well digging; to where to source construction materials; to the ebb and flow of living Rural surrounded by Nature. ⭐️⭐️⭐️Fantastic news ⭐️⭐️⭐️ I am so excited to share a tidbit with you all about the glass we tracked down and reused. It took us over 4 years to find all the glass for the grand windows in my studio! ✅. I am so thrilled to share the great news✅ 💥💥💥 Finally the last piece of glass has been secured and installed...💥💥💥 My husband located it in a glass warehouse in Denver. A 3 hour drive north. It is a sheet of 3/4” glass from a sliding glass door taken out of a hotel renovation. He had to take apart the door to retrieve the sheet. Finding The correct size was a real challenge. In the 3 skylights and 9 windows We reused glass from French doors and slider doors. We have secured the glass from 5 different construction sites or glass warehouses throughout Colorado. The challenge- The standard size of a slider door changed during the 80s to a small dimension. We have been hunting for the larger pre-80s glass. 💥💥💥💥Celebrate with me. We found it! The final sheet has been found! And it is installed! Which means that the interior construction for all the large windows is done! 💯💯💯💯 enjoy the installation images. I am baking a chocolate cake today to celebrate 🎉
